We are busy in the college with all our new students for the academic year of 2013-14. We are welcoming 41 new students to OICB on a range of different courses.

Our ‘CIDESCO Full-time 10 month Course’ filled up early with some lovely young ladies from around the UK, with some local girls too from the Oxford area. Our student houses are full with 8 students that chose OICB above their local college and moved here in order to study. The girls are gaining a great experience of living together and exploring their independence along with studying a subject they are passionate about. In 10 months time, these ladies will be sought after by all the salons and spas across the country and worldwide who love to employ our CIDESCO graduates. The next CIDESCO course starts in January and they run every September and January.

Our ‘CIBTAC Part-time Course’ also started with a mixture of budding beauty therapists, some local girls and some ladies that travel a long way for this 3 day per week, 14 month course. It is ideal to fit around family life which was useful to Vania, Anny and Oana, all mature students who wanted to learn new skills to support their future careers prospects whilst raising families. This course starts every September and finishes the following November.

Our ‘NVQ 2 Evening Course’ is also full this year with some lovely ladies who are fitting in their study around their jobs and family commitments. For the second year running we are teaching an ‘NVQ 2 Apprenticeship Course’ to young 16-18 year olds who are working in local salons and coming to us one day per week. And finally, we have our evening massage ‘NVQ 3 Evening Massage Course’ with a mix of advanced apprentices and mature students who graduated from the NVQ 2 beauty course last year and want to add body massage to their treatment list.

Staff at OICB are busy and excited to welcome all the new students on our courses. We have been impressed with the enthusiasm of our new students, many have pre-booked the extra courses we offer, the most popular ones being Reflexology, Hot Stone Massage and Eyelash Extensions. All the tutors are happy to support their students and help them to be the very best they can bring. Here’s to an exciting new academic year!
